SUMMER INTERNSHIP
PROGRAM
Each year Runway of Dreams hosts an 8-week volunteer summer internship program
(mid-June through early August). Interns have worked on a variety of projects including building the model for our high school and college club programs, fundraising and amplifying Runway’s message on social media, producing adaptive fashion shows at organizations serving people with disabilities, creating Runway’s first ever Virtual Adaptive Fashion Show that now serves as a model for our college clubs and developing a how-to resource manual as a guide for future leaders. Interns work both independently and as a team with supervision and guidance from Runway’s leadership. Guest speakers and
off-site field trips are offered whenever possible.
THE 2021 SUMMER INTERN PROGRAM IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY
This year’s summer intern project is a Panel Discussion with industry experts in the adaptive space and Gamut Management models. The purpose of the panel discussion is to inspire and empower students studying fashion, rising design innovators, entrepreneurs and anyone in the industry interested in learning about the need for adaptive clothing and power of fashion inclusivity. Also, the interns will create a “how to” create a panel event manual for Runway of Dreams’ College Clubs to replicate nationwide.
